How to Merge Images into a Long Screenshot
Image merging stitches multiple photos into one tall (or wide) image — commonly used for combining chat screenshots, stitching tutorial steps, or building product detail images. InkStu's image merger runs entirely in your browser: images never leave your device. It supports vertical stitching (great for chat screenshots) and horizontal stitching (great for side-by-side comparisons), with adjustable gap and background color. In vertical mode, "unify width" auto-scales screenshots of different widths to match. Output is a single PNG long image — one-click download, watermark-free, unlimited, and completely free.
Image Merge FAQ
What order are images stitched in?
In the order of file selection (multi-select with Ctrl on Windows or Command on Mac). Screenshots usually have timestamped filenames — sort by name before multi-selecting to keep the order right.
What if screenshots have different widths?
In vertical mode, enable "unify width" to auto-scale all screenshots to match the first one. In horizontal mode, images are height-matched and centered.
Are images uploaded anywhere?
No. Merging happens on a local canvas in your browser — sensitive screenshots like chat logs never leave your device.
How many images can I merge?
Browser memory allows roughly 30 images per merge. Extremely tall images (30,000+ pixels) may fail to export on some devices — stitch in segments.
Can I add spacing between images?
Yes — set the gap in pixels in the settings (0 for seamless). Use 0 for chat screenshots and 8-16px for tutorials.
